These terms govern your use of FreeTTS.ai ("the Service"), a free text-to-speech web application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FreeTTS.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

FreeTTS.ai provides text-to-speech generation using AI voices. The Service converts your text input into spoken audio files that you can play and download. Core features are provided free of charge. Premium features, including access to higher-quality AI voices and additional capabilities, may be unlocked through optional credit purchases or future paid plans.

3. User Accounts

• Account creation is optional. Anonymous users may access the Service with reduced daily limits.
• Registered users receive higher usage limits and server-side generation history with audio storage.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service responsibly. You must not:

• Generate audio containing hate speech, threats of violence, harassment, or content that targets individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
• Generate audio that impersonates real individuals without their consent, including using the Service to create misleading or fraudulent voice content.
• Generate audio containing content that exploits or endangers minors in any way.
• Use the Service to produce content that violates any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits through technical means, automated scripts, or multiple accounts.
• Create multiple accounts to exploit free-tier limits or free daily premium allowances.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service without our written permission.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Redistribute, resell, or white-label the Service itself (generated audio is yours — the platform is not).

5. Usage Limits

• Anonymous users are subject to a daily generation limit.
• Registered users receive a higher daily generation limit.
• Premium features may have separate limits or allowances tied to purchased credits or plan tier.
• Limits may be adjusted at our discretion to maintain service quality for all users.
• Abuse of the Service or circumvention of limits may result in temporary or permanent suspension.

6. Purchases and Credits

• FreeTTS.ai may offer optional credit packs for purchase to access premium features, including higher-quality voices and increased generation capacity.
• All purchases are one-time transactions. FreeTTS.ai does not offer subscriptions unless explicitly stated at the time of purchase.
• Payments are processed securely by Dodo Payments. We do not store your payment card details.
• Credits are non-transferable and are tied to your registered account.
• Credits do not expire unless your account is terminated for violation of these terms.
• A daily free credit allowance may be granted to registered users at our discretion. This allowance may be adjusted or discontinued at any time.
• Refund policy: All credit purchases are final and non-refundable. Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for monetary refund.
• Fraudulent purchases or chargebacks may result in account suspension and forfeiture of remaining credits.
• We reserve the right to introduce, modify, or retire premium features and pricing at any time. Existing purchased credits will remain valid for features available at the time of purchase or their reasonable equivalent.

7. Generated Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

• You own the audio you generate. Audio files produced by the Service are yours to use for personal, commercial, or creative purposes.
• You are solely responsible for the text you input and the audio you generate. We do not monitor or approve generated content.
• You retain responsibility for ensuring your use of generated audio complies with applicable laws.

Our Property

• The FreeTTS.ai platform, including its design, code, branding, documentation, and underlying technology, is our intellectual property.
• The AI voices available through the Service are provided by Microsoft Edge-TTS and other voice providers, and are subject to their respective terms of use.
• Nothing in these terms grants you rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.

8. Advertising and Affiliate Links

• FreeTTS.ai displays advertisements through Google AdSense to support the free service. Ad content is determined by Google and is not endorsed by FreeTTS.ai.
• The Service contains affiliate links to third-party products and services, including ElevenLabs. We may earn a commission when you make a purchase through these links at no additional cost to you.
• Affiliate recommendations reflect services we believe are relevant to our users. Affiliate relationships do not influence the core functionality of the Service.
• We are not responsible for the products, services, or practices of advertised or affiliated third parties.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers for certain functionality:

• Microsoft Edge-TTS and other voice synthesis providers for audio generation.
• AI language model providers (Groq, Google AI, Mistral, OpenRouter) for optional text preprocessing.
• Google for optional OAuth authentication.
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for anonymous usage analytics.
• Google AdSense for advertising that supports the free service.
• Dodo Payments for secure payment processing.
• ElevenLabs and other services linked via affiliate partnerships. When you click affiliate links, you leave FreeTTS.ai and are subject to the destination site's terms and privacy policy.

These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.

11. Service Availability

• We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice.
• We reserve the right to perform maintenance, updates, or changes that may temporarily affect availability.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• FreeTTS.ai and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which may be zero for free-tier users).
• We are not liable for any loss of data, including generation history or audio files, whether caused by system failures, maintenance, or other circumstances.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FreeTTS.ai and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

• You may stop using the Service at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We may delete your account data, generation history, and stored audio files.
• Upon termination for violation of these terms, any remaining credits may be forfeited. If we terminate your account without cause, unused credits will be refunded.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.

17. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
